I have my fifth crop of lettuce growing in my tunnel (with the sixth batch of 150 sown already) and I plant them in the same area each time - and every bit of spare space I can find as well. No problems at all - mine are growing in soil though I did put down a liberal covering of 5 yr old cow manure and also the dross that was left after I had seived all my seed compost. Lettuces seem to love it and are growing both quickly and healthily.
