Default Advise needed AGAIN, Sorry!!!

Hi

At work there was this gorgeous plant, have no idea what it is and was looked after by a member of staff that has now left. It started dying so I moved it to my desk and with some water and tlc its not marvelling in its new spot by my desk. It has these shiny leaves and the stems start off green then turn into a twig, and when it's cut milks.

Anyway I thought I would like to grow another plant from it so took some cutlings and brought it home but dont think its doing very well.

One of the cutlings has this white patch that was once green, the white patch has not grown for awhile but the cutling does not appear to have have got any worse at all. Do you know what it is?

Forever grateful
