You can start off seed in your greenhouse for outdoor crops too - I dont know why, but i never direct sow into the ground - I can't trust the ground I'm working with not to choke the poor seeds with weeds. I'm still trying to fix my 'plot'.

So, I sow all of my seeds in the greenhouse, then try and harden them off, if the weathers still a bit cold.
