Don't forget the humble leek. I'm popping beans of many sorts in any spare ground to keep us in soups all winter. Plus carrots and onions where I can get the ground weed free. Beetroot and courgettes are going in in a few weeks, as the seeds are going to be sown this weekend. Lettuce and salad can still be sown of course. And spuds for a winter harvest [if you keep them covered once the winter sets in].
