Good news Tessa is alive, and able to run away from us, and meow!
I did try phoning the rspca earlier, but because there was no definite sighting of Tessa in the garage, and no noise from her today, they said they couldn't force an entry. Anyway Once Val got home I went round again with my son, and asked if she would let us investigate again, just us, so Tessa wasn't scared by unfamiliar voices. Dan got up into the roof, and looked about, to no avail, but when we went out to Val in the garden, we heard a faint meow.
To cut a long story short, there is a channel that runs the length of both garages, and she was in there. Problem was, as we only had access to one, we couldn't catch her, becasue she was going from front to back in the garage next door, then inot the channel again. I think she got up there using the ladder, and now has found she can't get down. I did say to Val about the fire brigade or the RSPCA again, but her next door neighbour is due home any moment, so she's a bit reluctant. We have put food and water up there, so she can come through and get it, and left her to calm down a bit. Now the access is cleared of boxes etc, Dan might be able to persuade her out anyway. Now I know she is alive, and has access to food and water it isn't so bad. If we can't get her out tonight, I'm phoning tomorrow. I'm still off recuperating from surgery, so I haven't got to worry about work.
Thanks for all the good wishes, and I'll let you know how things go
Ann
