But the point is, that you need to protect your seedings. And if they're in a coldframe, they are as vulnerable as if they were in the ground if you don't protect them against slugs and snails.

Whether a pest is attacking that crop but not the other is of interest, but with all crops you need to be aware on a daily basis.

Yesterday I noticed a blackcurrant leaf was somewhat distorted, so I unfurled it. It revealed a caterpillar-type grub. Now there ISN'T a caterpillar-type grub, so report me...

Vigilance, common sense and general awareness of your crops is all that's needed if you love what you grow.
