We feed the birds in our garden and we have on a few occasions now had a sparrowhawk take the birds. The other day I heard a commotion in the garden and looked out to see a starling had been caught by the sparrowhawk and the poor thing was screaming it's head off. Well, I'm sorry, but I couldn't just sit there and watch this poor bird get killed, so I went outside and shouted at it. The starling shot off with the sparrowhawk after it, so maybe I only delayed the inevitable, but I like to think I saved him!
