Inspected my veg patch (which is in a large wooden trough) and wondered why the second row of spring onions has yet to materialise, why I only got one garlic shoot out of the dozen or so I planted, and if the beetroot and lettuce would actually make it, as they've been flattened by the rain.
Installed a shelf in the greenhouse, in the form of a bathroom shelf thing from Ikea. The shelves I had were from a mini greenhouse (the type with a clear polythene cover) and they were too wide. The new shelves are fine, but I've lost a bit of space. I can actually stand up inside my greenhouse now, unlike my hubby, who is too tall.
Repotted the courgette plant, looked at the fig tree (one fig that has been there weeks and refuses to ripen - guess we're not getting figs this year then), and brought a tray of echinecea seedlings indoors to give them a heat boost. Also brought in 2 pepper seedlings that seemed to take ages to germinate and are tiny. Am contemplating sowing some ladybird poppies, but don't know whether to do them in pots, or straight outside into a container.
