Hi,
Thanks for replies. I agree wholeheartedly about back door positions. My present herb patch is 2 metres away. At the new place, things are more complicated.
The corner i was looking at is v. close to front door as our garden plus greenhouse, garage, (pottering places) are out front and side. The back garden is shared, (we have the end part and by far biggest front garden, the others are cared for but not...adored)we're pretty sure of the boundaries from the seller but the solicitor will sort it out 'in the wash.' At the back there is a bed that the previous owners planted flowers in and she suggested I put veg in there too. We need to meet the neighbours. The sellers were there 47 years ago, so we will be of interest no doubt to the neighbours. I'm hoping that if we introduce ourselves and ask people first. The back garden is fine but could be improved, hopefully they'll either be very up for a spot of gardening or for us to, or they'll not mind either away. A Potager would look fabulous on the flower site and people could come and use the herbs too. Maybe flowers further from our back door could be enjoyed more by the neighbours. We will have to see, be very careful and patient. Meantime I look at the front garden in my photos every day, pondering!!!! |
