I've grown some of the naked seeded ones tha the kidscan carve once I'vetaken the seed out plus we seem to get 'spontaneously germinating pumkin' in the compost heaps most years. these were also grown on & almost certainly of no culinary value.
Is ghost ride qute flavoursome? i know it's not too big. I think the vey big ones are pretty insipid.
despite the dreadful sub-aqua growing conditions I have managed a few decent specimens from most of my experimental winter squash plants.
Bon BON (japanese), potimarron (french), marina di chioggia ( italian & unbelievably ugly. which is why daughter made me grow it) & avalon (butternut) are all awaiting the taste trials later inthe season.
hope to report back when I've digested them . also grew some connecticut field for the lad incase others faied to deliver carvable sized fruit. suppose i should add it to the taste-athon.
