I've come to the conclusion that slugs like to eat everything. They even munched on my onions which they are apparently said to hate!

I would strongly advise against slug pellets tho. They attract slugs, and even though they may kill some, there will be some that prefer to munch on your plants. Nematodes are the best bet, tiny micro-organisms that burrow into the slugs and eat them from the inside out. Not pleasant, but i works!
