The machine I got (mumble mumble years ago) was a pressie to myself on giving up smoking! I put all the money I would have spent in a jar and saved up the £150 or what have you in a couple of months!
My machine, a Gelato Chef 2000, will do up to 1.5 pints of mix at a time - a 6 egg custard if that helps. Then it needs to be left for at least 40 mins to allow the refrigerant to settle before making another batch. 'Proper' vanilla ice cream is always in huge demand!
Not doing my waist bulge any favours!
