They
are amazing - we have one who is a regular visitor through our garden (comes by most days) and I've had a few days with 5 circling overhead (I didn't get much done that hour).
As far as the pigeon statement goes it has absolutely no effect (we have masses of them), as kites only eat carrion - but just seeing the kites is enough for me.
