I've got to admit I know nothing about bats (thinks!!! Learn about Bats) but whilst walking along the canal at Chester in the early evening, we would be surrounded by what seemed to be dosens of them, so I suppose they would be Daubenton's Bats? They would come really close and were facinating to see.
