You do see pregant presenters on TV though... I'll often sit there and say to my OH - oh, she's pregnant. And there was the one in Atomic Kitten who was heavily pregnant when they did the video to 'The Tide is High'. Can't really speak on the gardening programs though as I don't really notice there. With the exception of when Kirsty in Ground Force was pregant - she kept working.
Having been pregnant before (and hoping to be again before this year is out) I can sympathise with your sister Andrewo... It would wind me up when people would tell me off for bringing shopping in from the car on my own when I was pregnant. I know people mean it with the absolute best of intentions, but most Mums-to-be will know when they need to stop for a bit and it's more the repetion of hearing it that winds us up.
Heck, I fell down our stairs when I was pregant. Didn't dare call my OH as I knew he'd make me stay at home and when I turned up at work hobbling, they had a go at me, but you know... most of us know when we've done damage to ourselves etc, and it's all about being sensible. No harm came to my little boy through my activities.
Does worry me about getting an allotment though - everyone's opinion (including OH) that I shouldn't go down the allotment when pregant or with new baby... Ho hum
Oh, my wish? To be either more space-sensible to get all my fruit and veg crops into my garden, or get past the time-worry about having an allotment
